Come to the Bark Avenue "Patriotic Pooch Mixer"
Bark Avenue is hosting a "Patriotic Pooch Mixer" on July 1. You and your dog(s) are invited to join Bark Avenue for an Independence Day Celebration like no other. There will be a doggie costume contest, a photo shoot for you and your dog, lots of treats for your dog, prizes, and hors d’oeuvres and drinks for humans!

The mixer will be held July 1 from 6 to 8 PM at the Bark Avenue Market & Bakery, 5615 Colleyville Blvd, Ste 320, Colleyville, TX 76034. Bark Avenue is located between McAlister's Deli and the IMAX in Colleyville Towne Center.

Flag Day in downtown Grapevine!
Local residents, merchants and civic leaders gathered on June 14 at the gazebo in downtown Grapevine to celebrate Flag Day. Among those in attendance were Steve Stinson, the Chairman of the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau, Sharon Spencer, Grapevine City Councilmember, and Kay Fluitt from the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Colleyville Library kicks off Summer Reading Program
The Friends of the Colleyville Public Library kicked off the summer reading program, "Bank on Books", with face painting and other fun activities designed to encourage young readers to sign up for the summer long program. The Colleyville Lions Club cooked a special "pigs in a blanket" breakfast. A special treat was a parade led by Mayor David Kelly, who pushed Daisy the Pot-Bellied Pig. Of course, he had to EARN the honor!

The American Cancer Society hosted the first Lakefest 2010 in Grapevine, as an outshoot of the very popular Lakefest held for the past several years in Lewisville. Organizer Shannon Funk was projecting 1200 visitors and $20K in funds raised for the American Cancer Society.
