GCISD retains "Recognized" Status

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has maintained a rating of Recognized for 2010 under the state accountability system. In addition, nine GCISD schools achieved the state’s highest rating of Exemplary. School and district ratings were released Friday by the Texas Education Agency.

“I am so proud of our students, teachers, parents and volunteers,” said Dr. Robin Ryan, Superintendent. “Our schools continue to make academic progress and that is a direct reflection of the hard work of everyone involved in educating our students.”

Schools earning Exemplary ratings are Bransford Elementary, Colleyville Elementary, Dove Elementary, Glenhope Elementary, Grapevine Elementary, Heritage Elementary, O.C. Taylor Elementary, Silver Lake Elementary, and Colleyville Middle School.

Parents Night Out at Advanced Martial Arts Family Center

There is a Parents' Night Out tonight, Friday July 30th @ 6:00 to 11:00pm at the Advanced Martial Arts Institute, family center. It's open to all students and friends or family members that are not current students are welcome to attend. The cost is just $30 for the first child and $10 for each additional sibling.

They provide all the martial arts fun and games, pizza, drinks and popcorn for movie time. This event is very popular and usually fills quickly, so if you are interested, please call 817-281-3600 to reserve a slot.

Back to School Backpacks Needed!!

GRACE expects to supply more than 600 children with a backpack and all the school supplies they'll need to start the year off right. With the first day of school just over a month away, it's time to start collecting those backpacks!

GCISD to welcome new educators

Join the Grapevine/Colleyville Education Foundations as a community in celebrating the arrival of outstanding new educators joining the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD team.

“A Texas Star Welcome” luncheon hosted by the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Grapevine Convention Center, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sponsorships are available at a variety of participation levels. Individual tickets can be purchased for $20.
