The "Swing to Success" Golf Tournament sponsored by the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce is fast approaching! This year's event will be at Trophy Club Country Club on September 13, with a noon shotgun start. Green fees are $100 per golfer, and includes lunch, a goody bag, valet bag drop, beverages on the course, and dinner! What a deal!

Other great events are planned, including a golf ball drop (from a helicopter), sponsored by 91 Design, OurGreatCity.com, and Texas Health, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, door prizes and other great games.

The Miss Colleyville Scholarship Organization with the City of Colleyville is pleased to announce the 2011 Miss Colleyville and 2011 Miss Teen Colleyville Pageant.

The Pageant will be held Sunday September 19th 2010 from 2-4pm at the newly remodeled Colleyville Center. The Miss Colleyville Scholarship Organization is a local organization to the Miss Teen Texas, Miss Texas, Miss America’s Outstanding Teen and Miss America Organization. These Organizations are the largest provider of scholarships for young women today. Last year over $45 million dollars were awarded.

La De Da Pet Spa is shooting a dog calendar, and the photos will be taken on September 18th from 1 pm to 5 pm. Families (and dogs) will be professionally photographed, and the best 12 will be selected and printed in the 2011 calendar which will be available at the La De Da Halloween Party on October 30th.

So bring the the whole family, the kids, and the dogs. All the money raised from this event will be donated to a rescue group.

The 4th Annual Seasons of Hope Luncheon Style Show will take place October 15, 2010 at the Hurst Conference Center where more than 300 guests will enjoy a three-course gourmet lunch, fabulously fun style show by Belk Department Store and inspirational speaker, Darlene Ellison.

Every year our nation gratefully recognizes the brave men and women that gave their lives on 9/11. In that spirit, ToHonorThem.com, a new local Grapevine social media website, will honor Bedford firefighter and Texas USAR first responder Greg Qualls for serving our community, our state and our country.

Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine both have their season openers this weekend. Grapevine is away at Midlothian on Friday, August 27. Game time is 7:30 PM.

Colleyville Heritage will play Duncanville at Pizza Hut Park on Saturday, August 28th. Game time is also 7:30 PM.

Grapevine's home opener is September 3rd against Flower Mound Marcus, while you'll have to wait until September 10th before seeing CHHS at home against Nimitz.
