Community Enrichment Center
The Community Enrichment Center (CEC) is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1988. The CEC’s programs serve homeless families, victims of domestic violence and low-income families in Tarrant County. This is done through a partnership of private donors, churches, businesses, community service organizations, and government agencies. The CEC's mission is to restore hope, share God's love and change lives in our community.
What initially began as a food pantry providing groceries to low-income people has now grown to include the following programs:
• Adopt-A-Family: helping working homeless families become selfsufficient.
• Community Ministries: providing groceries to low-income families and community building programs for seniors and single parent families.
• Open Arms: serving women and children fleeing domestic violence.
• Affordable Housing: offering affordable housing to low-income families.
• Literacy for Life: providing free GED preparation and adult literacy classes.
Last year the CEC distributed more than 700,000 pounds of food to approximately 12,000 people. In addition to providing food, the Pantry also teaches budgeting and provide referrals to other resources dedicated to helping disadvantaged families move from crisis to financial stability.
