New Educators Luncheon welcomes new teachers

The Annual New Educators Luncheon was held on Wednesday, August 11 at the Grapevine Convention Center to welcome the new teachers to the Grapevine/Colleyville School District. Colleyville Mayor David Kelley and Grapevine Mayor William D. Tate addressed the crowd. The lunch was donated by Spring Creek Barbeque.

New superintendent Dr. Robin Ryan gave his impression of the district, and Dana McCormick, President of the GCEF gave a resounding "howdy".

A few interesting facts about the almost 100 new teachers who bring over 350 years of experience:

  • 60% graduated from college with honors
  • 50% are native Texans
  • 48% own a pair of boots
  • 39% have their Master's degree, and
  • 10% are former employees, substitutes or interns
