July 2010 Family of the Month--The Embry Family
The Embry Family - Mark, Marian, Carolyn, Stephanie and Christine - have happily called Colleyville home for the past nine years.
Mark is an executive with Siemens Healthcare where his work has taken the family to the east coast (Massachusetts), west coast (California), overseas (New Zealand) and back to Texas, his native state. Mark is a lifelong Cowboy’s fan and enjoys playing golf.
Marian is currently serving her second term as President of the Colleyville Area Chapter of the National Charity League (NCL). As a member of NCL she volunteers with her daughters at multiple nonprofits in northeast Tarrant County such as Meals on Wheels, GRACE and the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. Marian has been an active member on the PTA boards of O.C. Taylor, CMS and CHHS. She has also served on the GCISD Budget Committee for the past three years and the 2010 Bond Committee.
The Embry Family
Carolyn graduated from CHHS in June and will attend the University of Texas at Austin to study Design. In her senior year, Carolyn served as co-President of the National Art Honor Society at CHHS. She also finished six years as a member of NCL where she logged over 300 community service hours during her active membership. Stephanie will be a junior at CHHS in the fall. Along with her academic studies she is taking multiple art classes in high school. Stephanie’s main interest is photography and you can always count on her to have a camera in hand. She is also a member of NCL and has volunteered in the community with her mom and sisters for the past four years. Stephanie’s favorite place to volunteer is ARTSNET.
Christine is the musician in the family. She enjoys playing the piano and singing. In her 8th grade year she was a member of the CMS Acapella and Jazz Choirs, as well as a member of the All District Choir for the second time. Christine will continue her musical pursuits as a freshman member of the CHHS choir. Like her older sisters, she is also a member of NCL and volunteers throughout the community.
Mark and Marian feel that Grapevine-Colleyville is a wonderful area to raise a family and are honored to be named July’s Family of the Month.
