Our Great City
April 2010 Family of the Month--The Bodish Family
The Bodish family—Steve, Darlene, Sarah, Emily, Erin, Stephen and Coco, their long-haired Chihuahua, love the Grapevine-Colleyville area. Steve and Darlene both moved to the area in 1989 with job transfers and fell in love with Grapevine’s charm, abundance of activities, proximity to the airport and friendly people.
Steve works with Verizon and enjoys attending soccer games, working in the yard, restoring his ’83 Jaguar and starting multiple home improvement projects.
Darlene retired from Verizon after 27 years and is now an active volunteer. She held various PTA positions at O. C. Taylor Elementary while her children were there and is now treasurer for the Colleyville Middle School PTA. She is also President of the GCISD Council of PTAs and a member of the review board for the GCISD Education Foundation. Darlene also enjoys promoting the growing sport of lacrosse by supporting and coaching the Colleyville Girls Varsity Lacrosse team.
Sarah is a senior at Colleyville Heritage and is captain of the girls’ lacrosse team, which she founded three years ago. She is also a Spirit Sister, a member of the National Honor Art Society and active in the Best Buddies program. She was a teacher aide at OC Taylor last year and at CHHS this year. Sarah participated in the Ambassador program and has logged over 100 hours of community service. She is looking forward to attending the University of North Texas in the fall.
Emily and Erin are identical twins and freshmen at Colleyville Heritage. Both are involved in band, love music and are active in community service and babysitting. Emily also plays on the Colleyville Girls Varsity Lacrosse team.
Stephen is an honor student at Colleyville Middle School, plays tuba in the Honors Band and is active in athletics. He played football, basketball, learned how to high jump and is looking forward to playing on the newly formed soccer team.
The Bodish family is honored to be the April Family of the Month and to be able to live in this unique area with great schools and great people!
