The Colleyville Public Library received a $6000 grant from the North Texas Library Partners to purchase the equipment. It includes 9 large monitors and keyboards with large lettering. In addition, special software was purchased that magnifies the images on the monitor screen so that visually impaired people can read books or other materials.
Several hand held devices were available for demonstration as well, and the Retina Foundation of the Southwest performed macular degeneration testing for those adults aged 55 or older.
