The Grapevine Colleyville Education Foundation recognized its teacher grant recipients and its donors at its Annual Celebration Reception, held at the Colleyville Center on February 25.

Dana McCormick welcomed the crowd, and oUtgoing Superintendent Dr. Kay Waggoner addressed the audience, reflecting on her past years at GCISD and remarking on the strong leadership of the administration and the community involvement.

Janice Kane presented "A Decade of Leadership and Community Support", which highlighted the success of the Education Foundation since its inception. Over $3 million has been raised, with $1.1M going to over 700 grants and endowments of $1.25M have been established.

Star Employee of the Year was Dr. Kay Waggoner. Star Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Mike Lewis of Mike Lewis Photography. Star Campus Award went to Cannon Elementary. GCISD employees contributed over $38,000 to the fund this school year.

Shining Star Awards were presented to community donors who contributed a total of almost $400,000 during the past year.
