"Hop A Park" provides fun for all
The Colleyville Parks and Recreation department sponsored “Hop A Park” in recognition of National Park month. On Saturday, several dogs and their “humans” came to McPherson park to show off their Saturday best.
A retriever named Tessy took first place as the “flowery ballerina”. Tessy is part of Dasha’s family. Dasha, who is 7 and will be in the second grade at Bransford, was there with her dad, Doug. Tessy got some cool dog toys and treats.
Honorable mention went to Holly and Heidi Reichling from San Antonio who were in town visiting their grandparents, Jack and Rita Wisdom of North Richland Hills. They dressed up as dogs….VERY CREATIVE!
At Kimsey Park in Ross Downs, there were two and three wheelers galore! After a well-orchestrated bike and trike parade, best decorated bike went to “Mr. America”, Grant Fadden, who is the son of Mark and Jennifer Fadden of Colleyville.
Second place went to “Tiki Man”, Gordon who is two. He managed to bring along his older sister, Emmy, 5 and his parents, Kim and Webster. Emmy will attend Glen Hope Elementary.
Third place went to the Dr. Suess twins, Sophia and Trendy. Sophia lives in Fort Worth and Trendy, who is 3, lives in North Richland Hills. Proud parents were in attendance as well.
The party continued at Sparger Park for the “superhero” contest, and then to City Park for hot dogs and drinks.
A special thanks to the Colleyville Parks and Recreation department for putting this fun Saturday morning together.
